Goodbye 2014, hello 2015

As the shutters come down on 2014 I’ve been thinking hard about the various things that have happened over the past twelve months, and I keep coming back to the fact that I just want to forget about them and move on.

From breaking my leg while crossing the road at the end of February, to having something fall from building work through the rear screen of my car just before Christmas, it’s been a memorable year that I’d dearly love to forget. I don’t generally subscribe to the idea of using the changing of the year to mark a new start, but on this occasion I really need it to be a new start.

A friend recently commented that I’ve had a run of bad luck this year, and that it was good to get it bunched up like that. While I certainly don’t think that we all have an allocation of bad luck that we’re due to experience in any particular interval of our lives, I’d like to believe that I’m now due an equivalent run of good luck!

I’m trying my best to look forward rather than back, and to find the motivation I feel I’ve been lacking for most of the past year. I feel confident that I can get my life back in order, and release the negativity I have stored up.

So here’s to 2015, the year that everything changes.
